Swim Parent Education Series: Swimming in College

Michael Groves

Last season we introduced an effort to educate our ASL parents and swimmers about swimming in college. One part of this was asking some of our amazing former ASL athletes to describe their decision to continue swimming at the next level, their recruiting journey, and their experiences swimming in college. So, this morning we’ll introduce our second swimmer in the series, Amy Riordan. As a member of the ASL Class of 2022, Amy is a sophomore at the University of South Carolina and is proud to compete for the Gamecocks. Her answers to our “Swimming in College” questionnaire can be found here.

Next week, I will post some very helpful information for swimmers in high school that are beginning to think about swimming in college. It will help them and their parents understand how they can choose the right school and team and use their swimming to maximize their success in the college application process.
