Help ASL Make a Difference: Three Opportunities
I am always so impressed with the generosity of our ASL family. Here are three important opportunities to help those in need...
First, thank you to everyone who has contributed to the 2023 GA Swimming LSC Canned Food Drive! Between our actual cans (counted as $1/can) and our monetary donations, we have raised $432 dollars for this effort. Amazing work! That puts in a solid 2nd place behind the Cumming Waves, who have $531 and well ahead of Stingrays in 3rd with $140. They announced the grand prize is an in-person visit and talk for the club from USA Olympian Nic Fink. Although can collection has ended, you can continue donating to this cause by clicking on the following link: GA Swimming Canned Food Drive
Second, as many of you may be aware, on 2/6/23, and again earlier today, the countries of Turkey and Syria have been struck by powerful earthquakes. These devastating tremors have already been blamed for the deaths of 42,000+ people and this will likely climb as further aftershocks and winter weather continue to take their toll. One of our fantastic ASL parents, Yosra Shaaban, has provided the names of three reputable charities doing relief work in the area. Please consider clicking on one of the links below to assist the thousands of people who are living in this region and truly suffering:

Finally, much closer to home, Ben Crawford, husband to Coach Patty and father of three amazing ASL swimmers, Claire, Benji, and Josie, is having open heart surgery tomorrow. If you would like to assist them during this time of significant stress in the next couple weeks, you can bring them a meal. Having warm, home-cooked meals brought to them will help them maintain a sense of normalcy without having to stress about cooking dinner. Thanks for always being willing to help!
Sincerely,
